Inger Björck

Prof Inger Björck (IB) has since more than 25 years been engaged in research related to the tailoring of food products with anti-diabetic potential. A particular focus has been on means to facilitate glycaemic regulation including also means to lower disease risk factors through prebiotic modulation of the gut microbiome.

IB has been co-ordinator of larger international research programs, and from 2007 to 2017 she was managing director of the Antidiabetic Food Centre, a centre of excellence in research and innovation at Lund University. In this capacity she has initiated new research areas and developed new processes for knowledge transfer and collaboration with corporate partners and the health care system. IB has been invited to numerous international scientific meetings and as member of several consensus groups, including the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences. Her scientific production contains more than 300 items, of which about 150 are original papers. IB recently left her position as researcher at Lund university with the intent to implement research results and join ”good forces” aiming at development of innovative health promoting food concepts. IB is co-inventor of several patents/patent applications within three main patent families. IB is co-founder of InnovaFood AB, InnovaChildfood AB and ProPrev AB.
